I haven’t been a good post-provider lately – not since the passing of my pal. But I’m getting back on the horse. Neigh!
I put this record on, actually, on a Sunday morning, about 2 hours before we got the call that Derek had died. He’d given it to me – he was always giving me music – and I hadn’t gotten around to checking it out yet. I really dig it. After he died I couldn’t listen to it again for a bit, but now it’s comforting.
It’s Karl Blau’s Beneath Waves, and I had not heard anything about it before putting it on. Turns out he’s a prolific cat – wikipedia lists 19 full albums released in a decade – who plays in a number of bands. His style’s eclectic but solid, and, well, blah blah blah. I like it. Here, see if you like it. The whole album’s this good.
